Our History

Fireworks by Boom Boom has been producing fireworks displays worldwide since 1989. Our international show credits range from displays for Budapest Hungary’s giant millennium celebration on the Danube river August 2000 to Olympic Stadium in Mexico City for the Juegos Centro Americanos to the 25th anniversary celebration for the State of Sabah, Malaysia. National productions include fireworks displays for the 3rd Annual International Fireworks Symposium at Walt Disney World Florida, the Florida Orange Bowl, and the Pyrotechnic Guild Internationals 25th & 3oth Anniversary Conventions at New Castle, Pennsylvania and Fargo, North Dakota. Special effects credits include President Clinton's 96 Campaign, 3 Olympic Torch ceremonies, Rod Stewart, Mercedes Benz, BMG Records,  Dave Mason, Guns and Roses, numerous air shows and California Governor, Pete Wilson.

Our list of satisfied customers include the 4th of July at Cal Expo, cities such as  Oakland, Sausalito, Santa Rosa, Santa Barbara, Truckee, Redding, Eureka and Stockton as well as the California State Fair and the Santa Clara County Fair to name just a few. Fireworks by Boom Boom is based in Northern California, where sales have literally skyrocketed. Excellent personal service with the best fireworks value available has been credited for that growth.

Fireworks by Boom Boom sees pyrotechnics as a science and an art form. The science aspect includes safety, insurance, permits, regulations, and the fireworks chemistry.  The artistic aspect includes the aesthetic values of the productions; colors, patterns, sounds, choreography, and many times music. Both art and science can only flourish when there is personal and meticulous attention to every detail. We are committed to providing that kind of service, and see our productions as more than just fireworks displays. Fireworks make people happy. We try to realize this with beautiful artistic mastery of the fireworks. We believe, as George Plimpton once said; "What other art form can rival that of the heavens themselves"?

Our Products

We do not use ambiguous terms like "fancy", "special", "deluxe designer", etc. to describe our products, as these terms serve little purpose except perhaps to confuse the customer. For instance, dragon eggs and crackling are both Chinese effects of identical cost to green peonies, yet some companies list these as specials even though they cost the same as "color" or "fancy" items in their proposals Like all companies around the world, almost all of our fireworks come from China, and that is the origin unless specified otherwise in our proposals. When we refer to an American product, the products are only made in America. American manufactured fireworks stocked in our bunkers include, Starr, Mattrocce, Precocious, and Pyro Products.

 Recently American companies have introduced products with new technology and effects such as multicolored strobe stars, pattern shells (hearts, stars, letters, etc.), crossettes, titanium whistles, and tourbillion to report shells. As members of the Pyrotechnic Guild International, the National Fireworks Association (charter), and the Western Pyrotechnic Association (charter) we keep abreast of the latest developments.

 Chinese fireworks are rapidly becoming the best in the world. Their reliability has been greatly improved with the introduction of Japanese supervisors on the ground in China. Effects such as  palm trees, color changing chrysanthemums, ring shells, etc. are now being made in China in such a way as to make them indistinguishable from their Japanese counterparts. The Chinese are now cutting into the once exclusive domain of the Japanese and Taiwanese companies market  because of the low cost of labor in China. Today, we are witnessing a quantum leap in Chinese firework technology, mainly because the Japanese are now building their shells there with their staff supervising.

 We were honored to exhibit fireworks at Walt Disney World Florida for the 3rd International Symposium on Fireworks in 1996, sponsored by the Canadian Ministry of Explosives. Our company is also the exclusive US Agent for Articulous Pirotecnicos Mexicanos, the largest fireworks firm in Mexico. Many of their products are unique, including their famous Spanish style roman candles.
